Angel Tree is a national program of gifts for children whose parent is incarcerated. Angel Tree is open for church members’ participation in November

Blanket Sunday

Blanket Sunday is a part of Tools of Compassion. This is the opportunity to purchase blankets, farm animals, and farming tools for people living in poverty throughout the world. Blanket Sunday is the mission focus for February.

Crop Walk

This community-based fund raising event raises money for local hunger-fighting agencies as well as the international relief and development efforts of Church World Service. The local walk will be on Oct. 17, 2004. This team will sponsor the July 11 Sunday Night Special with a speaker from Church World Service.

Compassion Center

The Compassion Center in Indianapolis’ inner city provides meals for the homeless or people in hunger. We provide meals and meal supplies

African Missions

We actively participate in Operation Classroom providing filled Y.E.S. Kits for school supplies, clothing and teddy bears for infants in Sierra Leone and Liberia. Ken and Sandy Grubb have traveled to Africa as part of an Operation Classroom work team. Africa University is also supported by prayers and gifts.

Fletcher Place

Fletcher Place Community Center provides hot meals, food pantry, thrift shop, survival skills, Christmas gift program, and preschool. In April and November AUMC collects food for Fletcher Place food pantry. Clothing can be donated to the thrift shop. A few times a year AUMC provides dinner or breakfast. AUMC also provides resources for survival skills and preschool.
